The Makers behind the Goods

The Nana, Sharleen Anderson

Sharleen Anderson, Master Seamstress extraordinaire and my Nana! Sharleen has been sewing her entire life and is a passionate quilter. When her children were young she made all of their clothes, elaborate Halloween costumes and amazing birthday cakes! She made bread once a week and even milled her own flour. Nana just retired from her job as a mental healthcare professional, which, lucky for us, leaves her plenty of time for making aprons. She loves walking, riding her bike, dancing and playing with her new Cavapoo puppy, Oliver. I have such fond memories of summers spent with Nana in Southern Utah, hiking, swimming, playing tennis, and line dancing.

Other Brother Olive Oil

Website: Otherbrothercompany.com

The Other Brother Company is a Bay Area-based food company founded in 2012 by brothers Ben and Evan. Our organic goods are delicious --and good for you! --hence our slogan, "Good goods". All of our ingredients are grown by us in California or sourced from friends, sustainable organic farmers.

“Our family planted our initial estate orchard when we were kids, we grew up with the trees. After college we decided to leave our jobs in the corporate world and directions to follow our passion for food. Inspired by our childhood experiences in the orchard, we created The Other Brother Company, a fun business to support our family, friends and community, and an outlet for our creativity. Whatever we make, we are after the Good Goods.”

Untitled_Co

Website: untitledco.design

Born in Brooklyn and based in Philadelphia; Untitled_Co is a studio focused on the sustainable design of furniture and home goods. We began in 2016 by creating wares out of discarded raw materials: byproducts of the manufacturing world. Creating functional objects out of forgotten material set us in motion to develop our own product line. As we grow, we are finding new ways to source and incorporate repurposed materials into our work.

We design through an artist’s lens, at the meeting point of utility and art.

Fine and Raw Chocolate

Website: www.fineandraw.com

FINE & RAW was established in 2007 in a notorious Williamsburg, Brooklyn artist loft by Daniel Sklaar. Daniel launched into making small chocolate batches and sharing them with friends...he then started delivering them on his bicycle to local purveyors of fine food. It was apparent that the chocolate flavor was so good it was borderline addictive. The company grew based on the premise of producing organic, unparalleled quality chocolate and a shear love of the chocolate making process.

We love this company and their mission. Please visit their website and check out their sustainable practices.
